Brief

Dawn Bassett, known locally as the Art Monster, is an artist working in plaster, fabric, marble, and bronze. For her studio rebrand, we created a full logo package and storefront design aimed at catching the eye of passersby while setting a distinct mood inside the space.

Delivery

We delivered a playful logo and wordmark with a subtle edge. The storefront and social media strategy worked in tandem to draw attention and drive engagement, helping Dawn sell multiple pieces from her Pull series: clever plaster-and-string work that invites buyers to reveal hidden designs, or find comfort in the mystery.

The brand captures Dawn’s personality while nodding to her artistic influences.

Form meets light

The Monster logo was shaped to catch more than just attention. As sunlight moves across the studio, the hand painted logo creates moving shadows throughout the day, turning Dawn’s studio into a living canvas.

Something lurking

Before the full reveal, our social media strategy dropped visual breadcrumbs: obscured glimpses of teeth and tail, paired with unexpected icons like Stanley Kubrick and Karen Dalton. The result was an atmosphere of curiosity and tension, inviting viewers to lean in before the monster ever arrived.

To help announce the event, Cool Your Jets Creative created a Fresh Friday vinyl mixtape, setting the mood for the event. The mix paired warm analog texture with a modern edge. Monster’s branding was subtly woven into the artwork, building anticipation for Dawn’s grand opening.

We edited the video for Monster’s “PULL” project, incorporating Shaina Shepherd’s track, “The Virus.”
